The art of shaping

I never knew how to shape a surfboard or how they are made until this August. I spent a week at a surf camp, and our surf teacher had this old caravan right next to the house where he shaped boards most afternoons.
The special and creative aspect of shaping is that you can significantly alter the behavior of the board in the water by changing its length, thickness, shape, or curvature. Slight adjustments can make a huge difference, and every type of surfing has its own unique shape and behavior, much like us humans.
